Visual effects

Visual effects , or after effects is the term given for editing or adding effects to a image or video. You can use after effects to change different features of your work. For example you can play around with the lighting or colours. You can also add different elements such as fog, more lighting.

 Visual effects are also used to add animation into live action shots, or for creating settings using methods such as green screening. This is called compositing. These effects are commonly used in TV and film. 

Although after effects are done in the post production stage, they should be kept in mind during the production stage especially for timing.
